Grain at Goulburn  Contributor's Pick!
Only a few minutes after the morning Canberra Xpolrer DMU has departed and just before the daily Sydney-Melbourne XPT arrives the dispatcier slips an "up" Pacific National grain train through Goulburn NSW behind the standard pair of 81-class units. Australian railroads have a delightful mix of English and American themes. The station architecture and track design is right out of the UK. Rolling stock and locomotives are generally based on US styles. Note the water spout just beyond the platform- steam didn't quit here until the early '70s and still makes an occasional appearaoce as part of a heritage event.
