The first winter storm of the season had passed across the BNSF Nebraska Division the night before, dumping six to twelve inches across the territory. Weather driven delays on the Ravenna Subdivision resulted in hours of service issues for a number of trains. Because of road closures relief crews could not be taxied out to trains on line so this "Snow Coach" consist was assembled - BNSF ES44AC 6144, BN Caboose 12121, and BNSF ES44AC 6414. The locomotives are DPU linked. The 0630 shuttle crew is operating the train with four "DC West" profile crews (eight employees) riding in the caboose to relieve trains on line. The Snow Coach is seen here leaving Lincoln on the Ravenna Subdivision at CP 6.1. |
