| UP 1445 had been serving as switching power in Springfield/Eugene in late 2010/early 2011, but with one major difference; it was wearing an amazingly well-kept up coat of DRGW paint. Someone had even taken the time to remove the nose patch. I wrongfully assumed it was still showing off it's Grande glory somewhere else along the system but that ended as I passed it in Salem on 507. It's too bad, there was really no reason for a new paint job, even though the paint was decades old, it was very hard to believe it had been out of the running around in black and gold for more then a year or two. At least it will probably be in service for many more years. |
