| Milwaukee Road SD9 500 at Bensenville, Illinois on an unknown day in February 1982, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This was second MILW 500, the first was SD7 2200 re# to first 500, rebuilt in August 1974 to SD10 559. Second 500, built as MILW 2224 in January 1954 as the first production EMD SD9 (c/n 18769), was renumbered to 530, then renumbered again to 500, sold to Azcon Locomotive Dealer in 1984, resold to Western Railroad Builders for the Dry Valley Railroad in July 1984. |
