| In 1990, a GP40 was big power for a tiny shortline in rural Alabama. Here we see 3023 after a fresh coat of paint. Unfortunately the life of this locomotive was considerably short on the G&O. After a brief stint on the Wiregrass Central and a some mechanical and electric issues, she went to Florida to receive some rework. She made one final apperance for the startup of the Altantic & Gulf shortline in Georgia before being sold off. From what I understand this locomotive lives on and serves another shortline in Ohio. |
