Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4-6-2 class S-1-A 2814, date, location, and photographer unknown, Chuck Zeiler collection. The June 1, 1935 CB&Q Locomotive Assignment Sheet shows this locomotive assigned to the Casper Division, it was an oil burner, a characteristic of Lines West locomotives. The main and eccentric rods are removed, it's likely awaiting scrapping, so I picked Denver as the location and 1951 as the date. Number 2814 was built by Baldwin in June 1906 as a class S-1 ( c/n 28412 ) rebuilt by the CB&Q in 1927 to a class S-1-A, sold for scrap in February 1951. |
