This is a massive Mountain-type locomotive built by Baldwin in 1935 for the Boston & Maine RR. For this class of locomotives, B&M sponsored a naming contest for each of the 18 locos built. The winning name for this one was "Oliver Wendell Holmes". Eventually this unit was sold to the B&O in 1947. Speicifics - 73" drivers, 240 psi boiler pressure, 28"x31" cylinders, engine weight of 416,100 lb, tractive effort of 67,918 lb.
