The steam locomotive was Northern Pacific class W-3 no. 1762, built by Alco September, 1917. Sold to Spokane Portland & Seattle Ry. September, 1944, becoming SP&S 539. Donated to the City of Vancouver, WA for display, September, 1957. Eventually sold to the Grand Canyon Railway. She is the largest surviving N.P. steam locomotive; the only surviving N.P. 2-8-2; and one of only two existing SP&S steam locomotives.
