| Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad EE9 9991 westbound at Naperville, Illinois on March 9, 1965, Ektachrome by Chuck Zeiler. A baggage car was unusual for a Dinky (commuter train). In this case, the baggage car was added to deliver newspaper supplements to various news agencies along the Burlington. Usually this happened on a Wednesday or Thursday. One of my first employment opportunities in Naperville was as a newspaper boy, and part of my job was to stuff the Sunday newpapers with these supplements, generally the advertising pages, magazines, and the funny papers. |
