The train name was derived the Golden Gate International Exposition, held in San Francisco in 1939 and 1940, and replaced the CB&Q's Aristocrat, the D&RGW's Panoramic, and the WP's Scenic Limited trains. The Exposition Flyer continued to operate on the CB&Q through World War II, often operating in multiple sections due to war time traffic. |
