Lima Three Truck Shay Built in 1904. This Three Truck Shay was built for the Newhouse Mines & Smelter Company in Utah. It hauled copper ore from the Cactus Mine on the Newhouse Copper Gulch & Sevier Railway.Ten years later the mine played out the locomotive was sold first to Cramer Kay Machinery Company of Salt Lake City, then to Eastern Railway & Lumber Company in Centralia, WA to haul log trains. In 1942 the company names changed to S. A. Agnew Lumber Company & the #1 continued to haul logs until the railway was abandoned in 1951. No. 1 was stored at a sawmill until it was donated in 1964 & moved to the Northwest Railway Museum in 1969. |
