An old Reading Company commuter coach, constructed by Harlan & Hollingsworth in 1914, stands near the entrance to Coral Caverns, a fossilized underground coral reef from millions of years ago when this area of Pennsylvania was covered by ocean. This coach car was purchased from the Reading in the 1960s by George Hart for use on Rail Tours excursions. First moved to New Hope, PA for storage, it was later moved down to York on the Maryland & Pennsylvania and renumbered 10. Acquired by a local railroad historical society, this car operated a few times on the original Everett Railroad excursions out of their namesake city about ten miles east of the car's current location. |
