Milwaukee Road F9 93C at Elgin, Illinois on March 7, 1964, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 93C was built in January 1954 (c/n 18754) as number 83C (second), renumbered to 126A (first), then 93C (second). Originally built as a freight locomotive, it was regeared in the late 1950's - early 1960's for passenger service and a Cummins diesel/generator set was installed for HEP for the Budd gallery cars in commuter service. Number 93C was sold to Chrome Crankshaft in October 1980 and scrapped.. |
