| Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad property between SLOPE and WORKS Towers in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 06 June 1965. Shown here is the tail-end a westbound passenger train that has stopped at the Altoona Station. Note the short train and the small number of folks on the tarmack. In olden times, the trains were much longer and the platform was much more crowded. Visible here are the 12th Street Shops on the left, the 12th Street Bridge crossing over the tracks, and the Altoona Station a little further up on the right. |
