V94 is running lite back to the yard after switching local grain elevators North of town. This line was originally a B&O passenger line and the wall to the right marks the original property line where the B&O "Union Station" passenger station once stood. The building was used by the B&O RR as a passenger station until 1941. It then stood vacant for several years and was purchased by the Wetsel Seed Company (pictured in the background) whom then in 1944 torn the station down and turned the land into a parking lot. The area now is walled and topped with razor barbed wire to deter anyone wishing to escape the "Downtown Hilton" |
