Everyday. Here is an original telephoto view that I took in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, in March of 1972. Shown here (L to R) are Penn Central Railroad engines #9035, #9020, and #2436. #9035 is an SW7 built by GM-EMD in May of 1950 and rated at 1,200 horsepower; its original PRR number was "9365." #9020 is a SW1200 built by GM-EMD in November of 1957 and rated at 1,200 horsepower; its original PRR number was "7920." #2436 is a C425 built by the American Locomotive Company in March of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower; its original PRR number was the same. Visible in the background (L to R) are Bald Hill and the Samuel Rea Shop; also visible on the right are two box cars marshalled for reconditioning in the Shop. Photo taken at the Jones Street crossing and entryway. (Photo by Thomas C. Ayers.) |
