PRR Derailment In Altoona, #1 of 14, 1965
Derailment. Here is an original (fuzzy) photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 21 May 1965. Shown here in the foreground is the "western" work train and steam-powered crane that are rerailing the derailed cars and locomotives of the eastbound freight train on the next track over. The big white structure visible in the middle is the Altoona Passenger Station. Photo taken from the 17th Street Bridge. (#1 of 14)
