| This connection was built in 2016 and opened less than a year ago. It allows trains to transfer between the Tillamook and United Districts without having to run around the tqain in Banks, as had been the case. It was the first heavy rail construction in the Portland area since the early 80s and this photo illustrates the significant grade"involved. |
