The Florida West Coast Railroad's entire roster was photographed outside the Georgia Pacific mill in Cross City, Florida. GP18's 1353 and 1337 were both built for the Rock Island and retain their original numbers. The FWCR operates a short section of former CSX track which had been completed by the Atlantic Coast Line in 1928 as the Perry Cutoff. The line provided a shorter route for traffic moving between the Midwest and the west cost of Florida, but much of it is gone. |
