Nice series. I remember the days when this was C 420's, RS 3's, and hand me down long distance cars-and the infamous ping pongs. The location there is actually closer to a place the LIRR called Winfield(or WIN), which was just west of there. It's where the Port Washington Branch swings off to head through Flushing and Bayside on its way to Great Neck and Port. There was an Elmhurst station on the Port Washington Branch near Broadway, which was closed in the early 80's if I recall. Winfield once was the site of an interlocking where it was possible for a train from the Port Washington Branch to access the Main Line, in fact there were crossovers there that made a move from Main Line track 4 to the Port Washington track 1 possible. There was a tower there til the mid 709's, when it burned in a spectacular fire that disrupted the LIRR for several days.
