| On Thursday September 14, 2017 the American Association of Private Rail Car Owners ran the "Green Mountain Special " from Albany, NY to Thendara, NY. The special ran from Albany, NY to Utica, NY on CSX Transportation and then from there to Remsen, NY on the Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern and finally to Thendara, NY on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad. I had work till 3PM, so I did not see it heading north and I barley had time to chase it heading south. When I got to Utica, NY I waited for about 15 minutes or so for the special arriving back in Utica, NY. While running on the Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern and Adirondack Scenic Railroad, the train was symbol Extra AMTK 822 for its northbound run and Extra AMTK 111 heading southbound. At about 4:30PM, the train arrived at Utica, NY and is seen crossing Washington Ave. This location is at Milepost U0.25 of the Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern Lyons Falls Track. |
