SNC 52
Saratoga & North Creek Railway BL-2 52 was built in 1949 by EMD for northern Maine's Bangor & Aroostook Railroad, where it served into the 1980s hauling freight, mainly agricultural and forest products. Iowa Pacific acquired the unit for the start of the SNC operation from a private owner who had it stored at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, WI for many years. It was restored to operation and given a new paint job in the midwest before heading east to the former D&H Adirondack branch, where it has since become one of the main locomotives used for the operation.
