NH 3884
The museum acquired this former NH wood sided baggage car in 2012 from the Railroad Museum of New England, trucking it from Connecticut to the Lenox site. This car is one of the oldest surviving pieces of NH rolling stock, built by the company's own shops in 1896 for use in transporting horses. In 1929, the car was reconditioned for standard baggage service and would operate on regular passenger trains into the late 1950s.
