Here is a photo that was included in the "Altoona Area Railroad Pictorial History" edited by Linda White and published in 1996 by The Altoona Mirror, page 60. Photo Caption: "This Pennsylvania Railroad engine was one of the many built around the turn of the 20th Century." Shown here is PRR engine #3396, an HH-1S (2-8-8-2) "Compound" built by the American Locomotive Company during September of 1911 and retired in April of 1928 after just 17 years of revenue service.
