Here is a photo that was included in the "Altoona Area Railroad Pictorial History" edited by Linda White and published in 1996 by The Altoona Mirror, page 90. Photo Caption: "Two locomotives push a westbound freight out of Altoona in 1946. A view of the car shops and freight station, with the Cathedral and ice houses in the background." The PRR's 12th Street Car Shops are located at the far left; a coal-fired, steam-powered pile driver is partially visible at the right. Photo taken from the 9th Street Footbridge.
