NS would keep power sets on some trains for a long time. In this case, it was a pair of BNSF units that ran on H 88 for over a month. They were painted in the then current "Heritage II" scheme, as this predated the "swoosh" by several years. This day I chased them out to Chemung, catching them and all of nine cars from my usual perch on NY 427 as they round the curve past the now privately owned Erie station, which can be seen in the crook of the curve. |
