| PFJ. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Fred Kern that was taken at Frankford Junction near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on July 1955. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #4939 and another unit whose number is not recorded. #4939 is an E-2B (B-B) built by General Electric in May of 1951, rated at 2,500 horsepower, and retired in June of 1965 after just 14 years of revenue service. |
