TRB. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Bill Price that was taken at the Rockville Bridge near Marysville, Pennsylvania, on 28 October 1954. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5755 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All are AP-20's built by the American Locomotive Company and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5755 was built in November of 1947 and retired in September of 1962 after just 15 years of revenue service. In this context, they are pulling a mixed-cargo freight train and are about to cross the Bridge from West to East. |
