Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Reading, Pennsylvania, c. 1960. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #8847 and #8850. Both are AS-16MS's built by the American Locomotive Company in December of 1951 and rated at 1,600 horsepower each. Many thanks to Mr. James Cocuzza for identifying this location correctly.

James Cocuzza General This is at Reading, Pa on the Pennsy's Schuykill Division. The give away is the converted tender in the background, a RR landmark in Reading. Sadly, on;y one track remains. 5/1/2024 8:55:25 PM
