Conrail GP38 #7723
While sitting in my truck with my 4 year old son, Henry, we were watching the geep doing switching in the yard. The engine than stopped by the truck. The conductor came over and questioned what we were doing. After explaining we just watching he invited us to come for a ride. Riding to the Frito Lay plant south of town we grabbed 35 freight car to head north back to the yard. The engineer looked at Henry and asked "do you want to drive the train?. Well I sat in the engineer’s seat and he sat on my lap and operated the geep back to Binghamton. What a wonderful experience for my son and I". Those Conrail employees created a fantastic memory that day. 25 Years later Im still enjoying the memory. This picture was scanned from my photo collection
