| A CN local crosses N. State St. as it heads southwest via former C&NW rails at Appleton, WI, on 18 Jul. '18. Train was headed back from Little Chute and Kaukauna and had two locomotives, IC 3115 and CN 9530. The Non-mountable Curb Island (one variant of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) approved traffic channelization devices) has been installed recently as part of Appleton's quest for so-called 'Quiet Zone' status. The parking lot of the historic Flanagan's Stop & Shop is partially visible to the right, if you appreciate an excellent selection of liquor, beer, and wine. |
