Baldwin built 82 of this particular model between 1948-1950, including this unit for the B&LE as their Number 401 in January 1949 ( c/n 73988 ). It was transferred to the EJ&E in March 1956. It was powered by a 1500 horsepower eight cylinder model 608SC turbocharged (or, Super Charged, per the SC in the model designation) diesel prime mover, and retired May 1975. |
