| A CN local crosses Garfield Ave. as it works the northwest end of the former C&NW yard on Doty Island at Menasha, WI on 15 Oct. '18. The former C&NW depot/yard office is the tan building partially visible at left. The station sign says Neenah but it is actually located in Menasha. The border between the Twin Cities is about 750 feet to the south (left). The depot/yard office was built by the C&NW in 1965. The blue facility partially visible at left is Warehouse Specialists, Inc., 257 Garfield Ave., Menasha, WI. Built ca. 1965 by Remick Transfer Co., Inc., it used to receive rail service, but has not for quite some time. |
