Odd shaped cab on this NF-110 unit and 3' 6" narrow gauge trucks make this loco an unusual diesel to say the least. From the looks of it, it appears to be masked for repainting here. Built by GMD (EMD Canada) in February of 1953. This loco has been preserved in St Johns, Newfoundland, Canad and is one of only three that has been preserved. Specs - V12 567 prime mover, 60 mph max speed, 1200 hp, continuous tractive effort of 40,000 lb. The photo is from the I.R. Sage collection. The date is approximate. Since there is no listing in RRPA data base for NF-110, a later model, NF-210, was selected. |
