Here is page nine of a 40-page booklet published by Harry P. Albrecht entitled "A Picture Study Of The K-4." First issued in October 1967, revised in September 1976. All of the locomotives pictured here are Pennsylvania Railroad K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacifics." Top Photo Caption: "This picture of the 5357 (1924) is from the G.F. Nixon collection." #5357 was built in Juniata during March of 1924 and retired in February of 1949. Right-Hand Photo, Partial Caption: "A study of engine 5344 shows the cylinderical electric headlight has been mounted on the platform which carried the old oil-burning headlamp, placing it in an odd position." #5344 was built in Juniata during March of 1918 and retired in October of 1955. |
