Closer look at "Oakland Acorn" and crew passing our train
This locomotive was built by George Reddington in 1950. When first in service on the Whiskey River, it had a metal cab and running boards and was lettered "Denver & Rio Grande" on the tender. Per photos in my family's albums, this appearance lasted only about a year in the early '90s.
