Southern Railway train No. 2 – the northbound SOUTHERN CRESCENT – was at the station in Slidell, Louisiana with E8A 6905, FP7A’s 6147, 6145 and 6148, and nine cars: baggage-dormitory 710, coaches 843, 828 and SCL 5467, diner 3306, 10-6 sleeping cars 2012 SALUDA RIVER, 3401 FRENCH BROAD RIVER and un-named Amtrak 2695; and dome parlor 1602. During 1974 FP7’s were often used on Nos. 1 and 2, but not this many! |
