SAL 4501
Aside from the copy maker's name there was no information on the slide. Thanks to Gary Hart in the comments for filling in the correct year (1956), photographer (Clerence Cade), copy maker (W. B. Folsom), and location (Columbus, GA). It would be nice to get the story on the saddle tank to the Centipede's side, or for any part of this photo really. The date (aside from the year) is approximate. From the Ralph L. Phillips collection of the Bay State Model Railroad Museum.

Gary Hart General The little steam engine is the last one on SAL and was used in Columbus for tracks that had very tight curves. It lasted until 1959 and then was scrapped after S-1m 1201 came onto the scene. 1/25/2024 4:41:15 PM
