Caption On Reverse: "No, it's not 1943, but May 14, 1977, and Amtrak's 4935 has its portrait taken in fresh Pennsylvania Railroad colors. Restoration was undertaken by Amtrak at the suggestion of and financial contributions raised through the Philadelphia Chapter, National Railway Historical Society. Photo by John C. Benson." Engine #4935 is a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) built by the PRR in Juniata during March of 1943, rated at 4,620 horsepower, and presently on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg. |
