Here is the Association of American Railroads' stock photo #3357. Caption On Reverse: "In the Pennsylvania Railroad's Locomotive Test Plant, locomotives are constantly studied to effect improvements. This multi-cylinder passenger and freight engine is one of the new T-1 Type, which utilizes four cylinders in place of the conventional two. As the result of the successful conclusion of this and many other tests with the two original engines of this type, fifty more units are being built." Prominent here is PRR engine #6110, a T-1 (4-4-4-4) "Duplex" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during April of 1942 and retired in December of 1953 after just 11 years of revenue service.
