Once a mighty loco serving first the Pere Marquette and later after the 1947 merger, the Chesapeake & Ohio, it was photographed waiting its fate after being written off the C&O roster in January of 1958. It finally met the scrapper's torch in 1961. Built by Lima in April of 1944 as PM #1237 (serial #8459, class N-2), it was never renumbered after joining the C&O roster in 1947. .Final specs - 70" drivers, impressive 245 psi boiler pressure, 26x34" cylinders, engine weight of 456,100 lb, tractive effort of 69,350 lb with booster adding 14,400 lb.
