| Working the freight yard on this day in 1936, this 2-8-2 Mikado was built in February of 1923 as Michigan Central #125 (serial #6389, class H-7a). It had a booster added in 1936 as well as being renumbered NYC 2225. The loco was retired in June of 1953 and sold for scrap in August of the same year. Original specs - 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 28x30" cylinders engine weight of 335,000 lb, tractive efffort of 63,470 lb. Unknown photographer |
