Built by ALCo-Brooks in October of 1918 as Pittsburgh, McKeesport & Youghiogheny 2-8-2 Mikado #9589 (serial #60354, class H-9a). The PMcK&Y loco was probably relabeled in 1936 to NYC 9589. Eventually it was retired and sold for scrap in 1951 The date on this photo is 10/6/1951 which means it probably is the last photo ever taken of the loco while it sat in the scrap line here.
