WB. Here is an image of a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in 1956. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6787, an M-1B (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Lima Locomotive Works as an M-1A in April of 1930, rebuilt in Juniata as an M-1B in September of 1946, and retired in September of 1959 after 29 years of service. Given the capped stack, it's being stored in serviceable condition at the East Altoona Coaling Tipple. William E. Burket Collection. |
