WB. Here is an image of an official photo that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in 1903. Prominent here is the Pennsylvania Railroad's Juniata Shops complex. Spanning the photo is Chestnut Avenue. The two-story Master Mechanic's Building opens to Juniata's 2nd Street Gate. The 50-track Erecting & Machine Shop has not yet been built. At 1st Street is the tiny terminal of the narrow-gauge Altoona, Clearfield, & Northern Railroad ~ the "Wopsy Railroad." William E. Burket Collection. |
