Built by ALCo-Brooks in April of 1918, Illinois Central #1161 worked faithfully for nearly 34 years before it was scrapped in 1952. Rebuilt specs - 75.5" drivers, 215 psi boiler pressure, 26x28" cylinders, engine weight of 285,500 lb, tractive effort of 48,511 lb. No date or photograher was given for the photo. |
