Photo Caption: "Westinghouse incorporated into its first Ignitron-rectifier locomotives, No. 4995 (below) and 4995, a unique B-B-B wheel arrangement which enables the E3b's to hold track with tenacity." Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4995 is an E-3B electric built by Baldwin-Westinghouse in June of 1951, rated at 3,000 horsepower, and retired in June of 1965 after just 14 years of revenue service. |
