Altoona Action. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide (converted to B&W) that was taken in East Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1966. The photographer is not identified. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8731, a BS-24M transfer locomotive built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton in December of 1952 and retired in October of 1967 after just 15 years of service. Also visible at the far left is the East Altoona Coaling Tipple. Produced and distributed by Merchandise Service Express Company.
