The 2-10-2 Santa Fe type steam locomotive was built by Baldwin in September of 1925 as Atlantic Coast Line #2000. It served the ACL for nearly 26 years. It was then sold via the Georgia Car & Loco Company brokerage firm on 1/4/1951 to Chicago & Illinois Midland as CIM #704 on but later renumbered to CIM #751. The loco lasted on the CIM roster for four more years until retirement and scrapping in December of 1955. Specs - class H-2, 63" drivers, 210 psi boiler pressure, 30x32" cylinders, engine weight of 391,980 lb and tractive effort of 81,600 lb. Unknown photographer. |
