Here is a photo by Howard Davis that was taken at the Passenger Station in Mount Union, Pennsylvania, in 1947. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6734, an M-1A (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during June of 1930, rebuilt as an M-1B in August of 1948, and retired in September of 1959 after 29 years of faithful service. In this context, it's rockin' 'n' rollin' with an eastbound manifest freight bound for Enola. The names of the two railfans pictured at the right are not recorded. Gary Mittner Collection. |
